About Me

My name is Lawrynn Harrold, I was born in Danville, Indiana, on August 31st, 2005. I grew up in the small town of Transfer, Pennsylvania, for most of my life, until I decided my senior year to move back to Indiana. I am an exercise science major at IUI on a pre- physician assistant track. Currently, I am employed at Mandy's, an ice cream shop where I have just started working. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, shopping, and playing basketball. I consider myself to be a fun and outgoing person, even though I am shy at first.

Moving Away

After my junior year of high school, I decided to move to Indiana in order to live with my dad. I had lived with my mom for most of my life in Pennsylvania, but I decided that if I wanted to make the most of my life, I needed to make a change. Starting new in Indiana was extremely difficult for me. There was multiple times where I wondered if I had made the right decision by moving. I had to start fresh at a new high school, make friends, and prepare for college all at the same time. Being an introverted person in a new environment is not easy. I learned that I had to break out of my shell and get involved in new things. Everything takes time, and I need to be patient on my path.

Setting Records

I have played basketball all my life, and I have always set goals for myself to become the best player I can be. I knew I always wanted to set a school record, and in February of 2023, I did just that. In a game against Jamestown, I made eight three-pointers, breaking the school record previously set in 2014 by two. I never thought that I would be able to accomplish one of my athletic goals. My seventh and eighth grade coach, Mrs. Tyson, was there every step of the way pushing me to do my best. I learned that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.

Furthering My Education

IUI was my top choice for college because I heard good things about it and how close it is to home. I decided to enroll because I want to further my education to a higher level. I want to keep a high GPA while in college and partake in research opportunities. I am an exercise science major on a pre-physician assistant track. My future career goal is to become a sports medicine physician assistant.
